Welcome To The Dark Skies Glamping Pod
Set within fifty five acres, in it’s own idyllic, remote valley, our property dates back to the 1600’s. Located between Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders the Dark Skies Glamping Pod is the perfect getaway from the busy world. Due to our remote location, we have some of the darkest night skies in the UK, the perfect place for dark sky glamping. Our luxury glamping pod has all you need to relax and unwind. With a queen size bed, pull out corner sofa bed, the pod will sleep four people. But we can accommodate up to six people, with two guests staying in our caravan. The pod boasts a well equipped kitchenette, modern shower room and a log burner. Outside you can sit and relax around the fire pit whilst cooking dinner on the BBQ, watching the local wildlife and stargazing.

Our glamping pod was hand built by your hosts Laura and Mark, with attention to detail and a cosy feel. The Kitchen is equipped with a double gas hob, microwave, toaster and fridge. Free tea, coffee and sugar provided. We supply all bed sheets for the queen size bed and sofa bed, all we ask is for guests to bring their own towels. The bathroom has an eco flush toilet, shower cubicle and sink. Location
The Dark Skies Glamping Pod is based in the stunning Esk Valley, between Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. Close to the small hamlet of Eskdalemuir, we are a one hour drive from Lockerbie or Hawick. One of the remotest properties in Southern Scotland, being five miles down a forestry track, part of the adventure is finding us. The glamping pod is set on fifty five acres of land, with our nearest neighbour being two miles away, so you don’t need to worry about being disturbed or overlooked. You can relax in the peace and quiet whilst being surrounded by only nature.
Eskdalemuir is also home to the world renowned Samye Ling Buddhist Monastery, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple. People such as David Bowie and Annie Lennox have visited the retreat centre here since it’s establishment in the 70’s. A lovely welcoming place to visit, Samye Ling accepts visitors to come and have a look around the temple and the stunning grounds.
Also in Eskdalemuir we have a lovely community hub/cafe/bar, which serves food and drinks daily, and also hosts a number of music events, arts and craft workshops and much more. It’s well worth a visit even just for a coffee and homemade cake.

The valley has plenty of lovely walks and a host of archaeological sites to visit, such as two Neolithic stone circles. You can also explore the 100’s of miles of forestry tracks on foot or on bike, we have two mountain bikes that we can rent out with the pod, so you can explore to your hearts content.
